How to Play
Get RuneLite
World 18 runs on normal RuneLite, plugins included. During the alpha you connect through our proxy setup (invite only). A proper launcher is coming.
Make a Character
Pick a name and log in. New characters start with gear and supplies, so you're not standing at the bank with nothing.
Pick Your Mode
On your first login you choose a game mode: four paths and three ironman modes. Choose carefully, it's permanent.

The server itself runs: combat, skilling, game modes, the Grand Exchange, the home city. Before we open up we want the last skills in and a proper launcher built. Join the Discord and you'll hear it first.

FAQ
Is World 18 free to play?
Yes. No pay-to-win either, we don't sell power.
What kind of server is this?
An OSRS private server on revision 240, so recent OSRS content instead of a 2011 client. RuneLite works, there are seven game modes, and home is Edgeville.
What client do I need?
RuneLite. During the alpha we share a small proxy setup per invite. A one-click launcher is planned before launch.
Which skills can I train?
Fifteen right now: all the combat skills plus Magic, Prayer, Cooking, Woodcutting, Firemaking, Smithing, Mining, Herblore, Slayer and Runecrafting. Fishing, Fletching and Thieving are next on the list — the honest full matrix is on the Features page.
Can I trade with other players?
Through the Grand Exchange, yes — it's a real order book that matches your offers against other players. Direct face-to-face trading comes later; the GE is the economy backbone first.
Can I link my Discord account?
Yes. Type /link in our Discord to get a code, then ::discord followed by that code in-game. You get the Verified role and your drops show up in the feed channels.
When does the server launch?
The plan is to release this year. It opens the moment it's stable, the remaining skills are in and the economy holds up — the roadmap on the home page is the actual status, and Discord hears the date first.
Is my progress safe?
The database gets backed up every night, and we've tested that restoring those backups actually works. The server runs in locked-down containers.
